Letterpress
Letterpress printing is one of the oldest printing methods and involves a raised steel form that is literally pressed into soft 100% cotton paper. This process leaves a lasting impression that one can see and feel! Each sheet of paper is hand-fed into the press and the printer must keep an attentive eye to monitor the pressure, registration, ink coverage, and overall consistency to ensure a quality print. Each ink color requires a separate plate and run through the press, which is why most letterpress printing involves only 2-3 colors. There will be slight variations from piece to piece because of the manual nature of letterpress printing. This is what gives each card an original hand made feel.
